Prevention and Code Enforcement

The North County Fire Protection District's primary mission is to prevent loss of life and property from fire and natural/man-made disasters. And, the Board of Directors have taken essential steps to obtain this goal. One the most important decisions made was in 1995 when the Board adopted Resolution 95-11-3: Negative Declaration for an Ordinance Adopting the Uniform Fire Code (UFC) 1994 Edition which establishes a residential fire sprinkler installation requirement for all newly constructed homes. Since then, it is estimated that over 5,000 newly constructed homes in the area have been equipped with this life saving measure.

Our desire today is to educate our visitors with some vital information that when implemented will greatly reduce the risk of fire or life loss in your home. Please take a few minutes and review the General Fire Safety link to the left and learn how to make your home and family fire safe.
