NCFD Firefighters Local 3058
On May 19, 1986 an Affiliation with the International Association of Firefighters (IAFF)
was entered.
Since then, North County Fire District Firefighters Association - Local 3058 has generously donated their time and efforts to multiple civic programs, fund raisers, special events, and local challenges for goodwill and charity with a dash of well deserved acclaim on the side!
Their wall of fame includes:
The construction of Wood Street Park in Castroville.
Donation of over $25,000 to various Burn Foundations.
Big Sur International Marathon - Mud Run 2007
Achieving 2nd place in the Public Safety Team Category!

2007 & 2006 Duck Calling State Champion
Tim Hudson, Fire Captain

Fill the Boot Campaign for MDA
Raised $15,000 (2006) and $12,000 (2007) in donations for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) Fill the Boot Campaign for a combined total of over $27,000! Thank you!

Christmas Bicycle Drive - 2006
Over 55 new bicycles in need of repair/missing parts were donated to Local 3058 by Wal-Mart - Marina branch. After making needed repairs to tires, chains, etc., District firefighters contacted local schools/teachers to determine the most needy children in the area. Once the list was established, Local 3058 members surprised recipients with their bicycles which included firefighter and engine escort!

Holiday Food Drive and Toys for Tots
Each year, Local members collect new toy donations from local residents and each year the response is overwhelming! Local members and their supporting friends and families gather together to wrap the new toys according to age group and gender. Then, again with engine escort, Local members visit under-privledged neighborhoods and watch the children line up to visit with Santa and his firefighter helpers!
Pancake Breakfast/Artichoke Festival
Proceeds from the Annual Pancake Breakfast, a joint-venture between Local 3058 and the North County Reserve Firefighters Association, go to the purchase of new rescue equipment such as Hurst tools (Jaws of Life), hydraulic spreaders/rams, and cutters.
Be sure to stop by the fire house for an all-you-can-eat treat complete with pancakes, eggs, sausage, juice, and coffee not to mention sharing breakfast with a local firefighter! It's an ideal way to begin the festival and all of its activities.
